Memory of a Brain Malformation 2006 My cousins brain tumour laser etched into glass.

Memory of a Brain Malformation is a laser etching in glass of my cousin’s Altera Venus Malformation - a brain tumour. 

The images of the delicate vain scaffold which feed the brain tissues are reminiscent of a tree, supporting a bird’s nest within the branches. The life-size lasered glass veins and tumour are as delicate as a memory, an ephemeral echo of the real tumour before laser surgery removed it.
