MY SOUL

My soul 2005 - My glass laser etched brain from my MRI scan

In 2004, as part of research into dyslexia, at Newcastle University. I had my head scanned with MRI. From those images I made various works, including My Soul, a laser etched image of my brain. It is life-size, with the left and right hemispheres in two separate blocks of glass. 

It talks about the self and asks the viewer to reflect upon the exact location of the soul and the origin of our emotions.   

My Soul, and the image has been shown extensively and is the cover for the first edition of the play, The Effect by Lucy Prebble.
